System can be used in the O.R. or Mammo. If system is used in the O.R., it can save up to 45 minutes per case. (At $32/minute for O.R. time, anesthesia, etc, typical savings per case can be $1440 per case.

Machine is used in the O.R. during a needle loc procedure. Once the breast surgery specimen is removed, it is placed in the transparent window area. Push auto xray button and you have a digital image of the surgery specimen in 7 seconds. That image can then be transferred to pacs, to be evaulated by the radiologists, for margins, calcs, clips, etc., while the patient and surgeon are waiting for the results in the O.R. The alternativeis to walk the specimen from the O.R. to mammo to get the same image. That procedure usually adds 30 to 45 minutes to the surgery case.
