I am looking to discuss topic possibilities for a PhD dissertation.
I am interested in vascular CT imaging, I think. I have a little experience with using Matlab to create algorithms for segmenting images. I'm thinking about trying to characterize arterial plaque structures in some way. I think that a great deal has already been done along these lines, so, I'm finding it difficult to point myself toward something that would look enough like original research to satisfy my own and the goals of a potential doctoral committee. I'm looking for some ideas for where I might thow my energies.
Pointing me to other discussion groups would also be helpful.
