We have just added a new review of the Storz metal dilators for PCNL. The two most popular methods of tract dilatation are serial metal dilators and the Nephromax balloon. This review compares the two methods with videos demonstrating them both in use during the recent Newcastle PCNL masterclass.
Caron Sandhu and Archie Spiers have also reviewed the Cook Advance 18lp angioplasty balloon. This is a 4F balloon to add to their range. Read the review and see if you agree. Feel free to add your own comments if you have experience of this balloon or any similar balloons.
REVIEWERS NEEDED: The site depends on you the users writing comments and reviews of the devices you use. We would like to expand our international review panel and invite any interventionist to be considered for the review panel. Reviews are easy to write and each published review attracts an honorarium of £150. We currently receive over 3000 hits per month, so you can be guaranteed that your review will be appreciated.
Its very important that your colleagues know of your experience with the IR devices you use.
1. Do they work as well as the manufacturer states ?
2. Are there any tips/tricks when using/deploying them ?
3. How do they compare with other devices ?
4. Are there any cheaper alternatives ?
5. What star rating would you give it ?
We also host the Global Interventional forum open to any interventionist. This is where you can discuss difficult cases, upload images and ask for an opinion on complex cases. Images can also be uploaded.
