I started this group after hearing from many of my old med school classmates about the financial challenges they faced, even when they landed their first attending-level job. Finance isn't endovascular neurosurgery, but navigating the cluttered options for financing your first home can be a nuisance when you're trying to focus on relocating and adjusting to a new clinical practice or residency program.
Fortunately for me and my friends, my mother happens to be a specialist in mortgages for doctors - plus, she's ranked in the top 100 nationally over all mortgage officers at Bank of America. She taught me that experience with doctors counts when it comes to getting the best financing deals for doctors. While you're welcome to contact my mother to finance or re-finance your home (see below for her contact info), let's make this group a broader forum to collect information that will help us navigate real estate financing issues as it pertains to the radiologist in training or practice.
