This course is designed to provide practitioners with a practical problem-solving approach to sonographic imaging of the female pelvis, including the use of 3-dimensional (3D) ultrasound. The course is intended to assist learners with patient care decisions by bridging the gap between sonographic findings and clinical interpretation. Course presenters will outline a practical approach to evaluating the patient with pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, and pelvic mass. Interpretation of the sonographic appearance of the endometrium in premenopausal and postmenopausal patients as well as the differential diagnosis of adnexal masses will be discussed. Course topics will also include descriptions of uterine anomalies and their importance in fertility. Ectopic and failed pregnancy will also be discussed.
