How long does it last: preferably 3 – 4 months (but depending on competencies and previous experience, a shorter period (2 months) could also be acceptable)

Terms of reference for the IFMSA interns:
The IFMSA intern will:
support the development of database design for maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health (MNCAH) questionnaire information (develop an Excel database to compile the data that will be collected using the global monitoring questionnaire),
support the entry of data from countries into a database in Excel,
follow up with WHO country offices and Regional offices in obtaining and completing MNCAH questionnaire,
support the development of a framework for analysis of MNCAH questionnaire,
programme/construct formulas in Excel for analysis of the MNCAH questionnaire.
Other requirements:
The IFMSA intern should:
be enrolled in university degree in medicine or public health (pre or post-grad studies),
have excellent communication skills,
have the ability to work in multi disciplinary and multi cultural teams and demonstrate flexibility.
have excellent command of English and proficiency of any other UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an advantage
have skills in using Excel

When applying for any of the above mentioned internship spots please note that WHO internships are not paid - no financial support is given to interns to cover accommodation or any other cost. WHO can assist you to obtain a visa and IFMSA can share with you a manual done by previous IFMSA interns, with suggestions about how to get around Geneva and find cheep/er accommodation. Interns after successful completion of the internship should submit a report to IFMSA about the internship. They are also are provided with a recommendation letter by their mentors.
