Salaries for Radiologic Technologists vary quite a bit based on location, experience, and specialty. It is also affected by how much you want to work. Average Tech salaries in Louisiana are $19 - $23 right out of school. Throw in some on-call hours and overtime and you're in the $40K-$45K/yr. range. When I graduated, the hourly rate was a dismal $9.15/hour. Anyway, back to 2011. Interventional Radiology was my first love. Never made less than $65K/yr. but worked alot to get it. Trauma call at a Level 1 Trauma Center can really inflate your earnings. There is also contract Techs. If 13 weeks away from home doesn't bother you, you're looking at $50-$60/hr when you add in all of the extras like car allowance, daily food allowance, hotel room, etc. So......a Radiologic Technologist's salary is going to fall in the $40K yearly on the low end and $125K+ on the high end.
