It was about a spine coronal view of MRI.

I saw one high signal intensity long shape area at one segment of spinal body.

Then I said " Is it a lesion site? "

that technologist said " That is a partial volume artifact! "

I guessed that high signal intensity area was some part of abdominal aorta, more than the lesion.

I knew the partial volume artifact of CT is caused by one slice cut through two tissues which they have huge HU number difference between each other. 

But I wonder " Dose partial volume artifact exist at a MR image? " 

Who can give me a hand?
