It was about a spine coronal view of MRI.
I saw one high signal intensity long shape area at one segment of spinal body.
Then I said " Is it a lesion site? "
that technologist said " That is a partial volume artifact! "
I guessed that high signal intensity area was some part of abdominal aorta, more than the lesion.
I knew the partial volume artifact of CT is caused by one slice cut through two tissues which they have huge HU number difference between each other.
But I wonder " Dose partial volume artifact exist at a MR image? "
Who can give me a hand?
Thanks a lot!!
