Accommodations are available in private homes near the AFI Silver Theatre as well as in hotels and apartments in Silver Spring, MD. (Consultation with a fellow resident who has attended the course is recommended.)

WASHINGTON, DC-AREA NEIGHBORHOODS:

Silver Spring, MD: This is a good option for quick and easy access to the Silver Theatre. The prices tend to be lower than other areas due to its distance from Washington, DC. Public transportation to DC is available via Metro with travel time at approximately 30 minutes. This is the most convenient location for daily travel to the course.

Dupont Circle/Logan Circle: These areas are popular among students and feature many excellent restaurants. Public transportation to Silver Spring is available via Metro with travel time at approximately 20 minutes.

Georgetown: This is a popular area with nightlife and shopping. Public transportation to Silver Spring is available by taking the bus to the Farragut North Metro Station. Once at Farragut North, take the Red Line to Silver Spring. Travel time to Silver Spring is approximately 45 minutes.

Penn Quarter: You’ll find good housing options in this lively part of town. This area is within close proximity to the Smithsonian and the National Mall. Public transportation to Silver Spring is available via Metro with travel time at approximately 30 minutes.

Chinatown: This is another popular area of Washington, DC with an excellent nightlife and quick access to the Verizon Center, home to many professional sporting events and concerts. Public transportation to Silver Spring is available via Metro with travel time at approximately 15 minutes.
