Connecting Radiology | Enabling collaboration and professional development

Message from Dr. Rubin of Stanford:

As Chief of the Section of Cardiovascular Imaging in the Department of Radiology of the Stanford University School of Medicine, I would like to offer a tremendous opportunity to fellows or 4th year residents with an interest in cutting edge imaging of the cardiovascular system. We have an unexpected opening for a clinical cardiovascular imaging fellow from 7/1/08-6/30/09.

Those of you training in centers where CTA and MRA have not replaced diagnostic angiography or where cardiac CT and MR are topics you read about rather than practice should take note. You are missing out on some of the most exciting developments in our field. Current interventional radiology fellows may be particularly interested, if you are finding that your program does not train in these critical skills.

If you are wondering about employment prospects, don’t. I receive numerous requests from top academic centers and private practices alike that are anxious to have someone take the lead in CVI and lead the way toward maximizing the use of new 64-row CT scanners and/or multi-channel MR systems, while bringing efficient 3-D visualization and analysis into their practice.

We perform a full spectrum of adult and pediatric cardiac and vascular CT and MR examinations. By July 2008, we will have 5 64-row MDCT scanners, including dual source, and 7 MR systems suitable for CV imaging (five 1.5T and two 3T).

If this opportunity is of interest to you or if you are curious to know more, then please do not hesitate to contact me at grubin@stanford.edu. I would be happy to forward literature regarding our training program to you and could get you in contact with one of our current fellows and/or a recent fellowship graduate to get the inside scoop.

Candidates must be eligible for California licensure.

Best wishes,

Geoff Rubin
