SIIM is offering resident scholarships to cover the costs of travel and lodging so that radiology residents who are interested in Radiology Informatics can attend the SIIM meeting in Seattle, May 15-18, 2008.
To apply for the scholarship, write a short essay (500-750 words) on the following topic:
Imaging Informatics in Radiology Education
Although informatics has many applications of interest to community and academic attending physicians, there are also applications that are particular to residents in the teaching environment. What is the impact of new technology and infrastructure on radiology education? Applicants should consider both positive and negative impacts, and how informatics may transform the way we teach radiology.
Essays will be judged for creativity, insight, and understanding of informatics topics. The winning essays will be published in the Journal of Digital Imaging or SIIM News. The deadline for submission is February 15, 2008.
