Business Development Associate (New York)

We are a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel, cutting edge therapies for cancer. We are currently searching for an entry-level professional in the life sciences. A PhD (or soon-to-be PhD), post-doc or MD looking to transition out of the laboratory or clinic and into the rewarding and fast-paced business of drug discovery and development would be an ideal candidate. Past business or industry experience is not required.

We are seeking hard-working, clever, and resourceful individuals with a strong scientific background. The Associate will assist senior management in multiple facets of the company's operations including research & development, licensing, and intellectual property. This position presents an ideal opportunity to acquire a diverse repertoire of valuable business skills in an intellectually-charged environment.

The company's management team is comprised of former clinicians and research scientists. The company currently has one drug candidate in Phase I clinical trials, six compounds in preclinical development, and a robust drug discovery platform. The company also currently collaborates with several leading academic institutions.

Job
The Associate will:
-search for, prepare, and evaluate ongoing business opportunities for the
company
-maintain a database of scientific and business literature,an
integral resource for the company to identify new research collaborations
and/or therapeutic assets
-stay on top of developments in the oncology community, including maintaining
relationships with academic scientists, and attending conferences and meetings
-assist in the preparation of grants, patents and scientific publications
-write business plans, strategic reports, and drug dossiers

Qualifications:
-PhD, or MD with research experience, required
-Excellent writing skills, both technical and general
-Hard-working, detail-oriented, and meticulous
-Creativity and resourcefulness, particularly with regard to researching new opportunities
-Enthusiasm, commitment, and ability to work in a team environment
-Only applicants who currently live in the New York Metro area will be considered
