Anybody know of any full time radiology research/journal positions, preferably
in California? Im a private practice radiologist looking to take a
break from the hectic daily clinical lifestyle to focus more on academic interests.
Thanks.
Dear Madh, What sort of academic interests do you have? i.e. research areas? Basic, clinical, or translational research? As far as journal positions, we are not sure about full-time ones, but there are many research positions that one could start with and then that can be surely a springboard for a career in academics.
Stanford, UCSF, UCLA all have great programs ranging from molecular imaging to clinical trial work.
What sort of work/area were you thinking of possibly?
Thanks for the reply. I was looking for clinical research positions
preferable in the Southern California region. I would also be open
to nontraditional opportunities that would allow me to use my background in radiology. I think Toshiba is based out here, do such companies hire
radiologists?
Hi Dr. Krishnan
Have you considered moonlighting from home as an alternative? We have setup radiologists to receive images automatically onto their home-office readers from smaller imaging centers. You can be done with a day's work in a few hours and devote the rest of your time to your academic interests.
