Director / Senior Director, Clinical Research and Development

My client is a publically traded biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of novel small molecule drugs, with pipeline candidates targeted to cardiovascular disease and cancer therapeutics. The company is located in California.

We are looking for talented, board certified MDs to play key roles in clinical R&D efforts at the Associate Director, Director or Senior Director level. Successful candidates will be MDs with board certification in internal medicine and subspecialty training and/or industry experience in oncology or cardiovascular therapeutics. Candidates should have clinical development experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry setting, with a target of 3 years industry experience for the Director title. Individuals with 1-2 years of experience may be considered at the Associate Director level, whereas more experienced candidates may be considered for Senior Director level appointments.

Your responsibility will be to provide guidance and leadership to the clinical development program, supporting pipeline product development from IND to Phase I-III and NDA stages. This may involve developing new clinical trials; supporting regulatory submissions; representing the company at scientific events; and providing medical safety reviews for investigational drugs.

You should be an expert in the design and interpretation of clinical trials, and have excellent knowledge of ICH guidelines, CDER regulations, safety reporting and surveillance requirements. You will bring strong leadership, communications and interpersonal skills to the role and are ready to rise to the occasion and play an important part in the company's future.
