This is an exciting opportunity to join our Franklin Global Advisers group as a buy-side Research Analyst. In this position, you will be conduct fundamental equity research, focusing on the Medical Devices/Technology sector. The Research Analyst will provide independent research and investment recommendations to Portfolio Managers. Responsibilities over time may expand to include managing a portion of a mutual fund. Individuals in this role are expected to remain current not only in their particular sector, but in the equities market in general.

This position will be based in our San Mateo, CA corporate headquarters.

Qualified candidates will possess one or more of the following:
• Medical Device/Health Care Equity Research experience on either the buy-side or sell-side.
• M.D. degree - Initiation and/or completion of a medical residency or fellowship will be considered favorably.
• Health care industry experience, particularly in the medical technology/device sector.
• MBA and/or CFA.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain effective business relationships within and outside of the firm.
• Critical thinking skills and ability to perform deep fundamental research.
