MEETING DESCRIPTION:
This course is intended for practicing radiologists. At the conclusion of this CME activity, the participants should be better able to:
• Identify MDCT techniques in the evaluation of abdominal pathologies, especially in oncology and diseases of the urinary tract
• Explain how to prevent NSF and to optimally image patients in renal failure
• Discuss common causes of hip pain and the role of the radiologist
• Recognize imaging techniques uniquely applicable to women, including MRI evaluation of the female pelvic floor, and the anatomic and physiologic differences in the female athlete that predispose to injury
• Cite of the large number of clinically important cardiac findings visualized on routine chest CT examinations
• Apply the techniques to treat varicose veins, peripheral arterial disease and uterine fibroids
• Describe how PET can be used to evaluate malignancies and response to therapy
