MEETING DESCRIPTION:
Venous Reflux Testing The understanding of venous insufficiency physiology and its significance along with the ability to accurately diagnose it can open doors to new areas of employment and revenue. Knowledge of current treatment methodologies and the limitations of each are crucial to proper patient care. Using venous reflux testing moves beyond traditional venous testing focused on the detection of DVT to a preventive approach that provides your patients with a rapid and accurate diagnosis that improves patient outcomes. This is the opportunity to “quan-tum leap” your practice to a new level of quality, service and satisfaction. Objectives Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to: • Identify the procedure appropriate to the patient population • Identify normal lower extremity anatomy and abnormal variants using real-time ultrasound techniques. • Identify venous reflux and grade its severity using Doppler ultrasound techniques • Discuss appropriate treatment options based on anatomy and severity of the venous disease Course Topics • Instrumentation and Knobology • Anatomy - Normal vs Abnormal • Physiology - Normal vs Abnormal • Testing Protocols • Current methodologies for treatment - Laser - Radio frequency - Sclerotherapy - SEPS - Phlebectomy • Hands-on scanning with volunteers Target Audience Physicians who desire entry-level training in carotid arterial ultrasound.
