2. Explain the advantages of using ultrasound-guided nerve block techniques.
3. Identify the topographic and cross-sectional brachial plexus anatomy.
4. Demonstrate imaging techniques for performing ultrasound-guided upper extremities anesthesia using interscalene, supraclavicular, infraclavicular, axillary and forearm nerve blocks on live models.
5. Demonstrate imaging techniques for performing ultrasound-guided lower extremity anesthesia using femoral, popliteal and ankle nerve blocks on live models.
6. List the indications and applications for performing ultrasound-guided central venous catheter placement and apply skills using inanimate phantoms.
7. Increase the participants’ knowledge to better perform ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia procedures.
8. Optional: Perform ultrasound-guided injection techniques on human cadaver specimens.
