Event Description

Course Objectives:

1. Increase the participant's knowledge to perform Ultrasound-Guided Regional Anesthesia procedures. 

2. Demonstrate proper transducer manipulation and system optimization to produce diagnostic images. 

3. List the advantages of using U/S-guided nerve block techniques. 

4. Identify and distinguish the topographic and cross-sectional brachial plexus anatomy. 

5. Demonstrate imaging techniques for performing U/S-guided upper extremity regional anesthesia for interscalene, supraclavicular, infraclavicular, axillary, and forearm nerve blocks on live models. 

6. Demonstrate imaging techniques for performing U/S-guided lower extremity anesthesia for femoral, popliteal and ankle nerve blocks on live models. 

7. Increase confidence to incorporate protocols, scan techniques, and interpretation criteria to improve diagnostic/treatment accuracy.
