Description:
At the completion of this course, the attendee should be able to:
1. Identify indications for the use of the different imaging modalities (CT/MR/US) for various abdomino-pelvic organs and conditions;
2. Implement practical procedures and technical tips for optimal image quality;
3. Better differentiate between the anatomy/pathology of both benign / malignant and common / uncommon diseases;
4. Anticipate potential pitfalls and limitations of the different imaging modalities;
5. Use appropriate protocols to decrease imaging time and minimize patient radiation exposure, especially for the pediatric patient;
6. Apply the ACR Incidental Findings Committee’s recommendations for managing incidental findings on CT scans of the kidney, liver, adrenal glands and pancreas.
