Event Description

The clinical use of image guided radiotherapy has increased rapidly in the last few years. Portal imaging is being superseded by cone beam CT (CBCT) in a number of sites. However there are still on-going debates around imaging frequency, dose measurement and margin calculation.

By bringing together experts in the field, this one day event will discuss these topical issues. It will describe how the imaging modalities work, especially the newer CBCT systems, provide information on the legislative framework governing imaging and justifying its use, and show how the imaging data can be used to calculate the treatment margins required for radiotherapy.

On leaving this event, participants will be able to determine the imaging dose and know how to optimise it and will have learnt how to extract the relevant information from radiotherapy information systems for margin calculation.
