Event Description

Providing quality mammographic exams requires skill and knowledge beyond positioning and technique! The stereotactic core biopsy is both fast, accurate and highly technologist dependent. There is a 100% correlation between stereotactic biopsies and surgical biopsies in the diagnosis of two early stage conditions: Atypical Ductal Hyperplasia (ADH) and Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS). This course examines the procedure and explains imaging theory, techniques, equipment, and why the procedure is available at 1,200 hospitals, clinics, and breast centers in the United States. A seasoned mammography/stereotactic technologist will guide you through the step by step procedure and assist you with troubleshooting and other important aspects of this unique lifesaving biopsy method.
