MEETING DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to address current topics in neuroradiology. Basic to advanced techniques and indications for neuroimaging will be discussed. Advancements in imaging technology and techniques and applied to the current clinical setting highlighting advantages and pitfalls. Faculty will review a variety of neurological protocols in conjunction with the neurosurgion's perspective.
The purpose of this program is to improve diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities and expand clinical applications in neuroradiology.
Educational Objectives
Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to:
- Explain the advantages and pitfalls of 3T imaigng for assessment of neurological disease
- Identify the cranial nerves and associated pathology
- Discuss the clinical indications and applications of MR imaging for the evaluation and assessment of peripheral nerve abnormalities
- Incorporate state-of-the-art spine imaging protocols and techniques into clinical practice
- Effectively assess neurological disease using MRI/MRA imaging techniques
- Discuss the clincal applications and imaging protocols of using diffusion/perfussion and tensor imaging when evaluating the extent of neurological disease
