MEETING DESCRIPTION:
This post graduate course is the 40th given by the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center. This activity has been designed for Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Radiologists, Technologists and individuals preparing for practice and for certifying examinations of the American Boards of Nuclear Medicine and Radiology.
Statement of Needs
PET/CT and SPECT/CT have proven to be powerful new modalities quite capable of assisting management decisions in a variety of illnesses, particularly in Oncology. These important advances have mandated the need for Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Radiologists, Oncologists & Technologists to expand their knowledge of this rapidly evolving technology.
Educational Objectives
-Understand the basic principles and clinical applications of PET imaging.
-Explain how the utilization of CT as part of the examination enhances PET and SPECT
diagnosis of the patient's illness.
-Describe the areas that SPECT/CT will contribute to patient care.
-Accreditation Statement
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through joint sponsorship of Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
