Event Description

At the completion of this program, the participant should be able to:

  1. Identify normal anatomy visualized during musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging.
  2. Describe techniques and protocols for performing shoulder, elbow, knee, ankle and foot musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations.
  3. Explain the capabilities and limitations of musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging.
  4. Describe the dynamic maneuvers employed to evaluate for impingement or to expose other stress related MSK pathology
  5. Identify sonographic appearance of commonly seen pathology of the shoulder, knee, elbow, ankle and foot.
  6. Discuss scan techniques and protocols for the evaluation of sports hernia.
  7. Increase the participant’s knowledge to better perform and/or interpret MSK ultrasound examinations.

  • Tissue characterization of bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons
  • Shoulder anatomy and normal scan techniques
  • Elbow anatomy and normal scan techniques
  • Knee anatomy and normal scan techniques
  • Foot and ankle anatomy and normal scan techniques
  • Musculoskeletal pathology: commonly seen in all joints
  • Ultrasound evaluation of sports hernia
  • Hands-on sessions
