Course Description:
This 4 day course is designed to bring the practicing physician interested in imaging disease of the brain, spine, and head and neck a range of useful and state-of-the-art information regarding the performance of imaging exams, the typical and unusual imaging findings, and pathology of a broad spectrum of diseases. The course is in the world-renowned San Francisco Fairmont hotel, with its reputation for impeccable service. Afternoons and evenings are your own to explore the region. The course has been structured to provide a wide range of lectures regarding common problems seen in an active practice. The faculty will lecture on disease of the brain, spine, and head and neck, and will also present interesting case sessions for active audience participation. The faculty is completely accessible for informal discussions, to answer questions, and to help participants with problem areas in imaging.
Course Objectives:
1.Review the normal anatomy of the brain, spine, and head and neck as depicted on imaging studies, and understand the compartment approach to lesion location.
2.Understand the imaging approach to patients with several common brain, spine, and head and neck presentations.
3.Increase your knowledge of the imaging of brain, spine, and head and neck neoplasia, and the proper staging of tumors
4.Discuss current thoughts of the imaging of CNS trauma, infection, and infarction.
5.Review nomenclature and some common and uncommon spine diseases
6.Understand the limitations of imaging in disease of the brain, spine, and head and neck.
