The lectures discuss common sports injuries and the use of MRI. The program is a series of lectures by Dr. William Renner with a "back to the basics" approach to normal anatomy and common disease processes affecting the musculoskeletal system. Dr. Renner’s lectures emphasize simple guidelines for reading MRI of the musculoskeletal system and have been praised by his students.

New lectures on pediatric trauma, the pediatric knee, arthritis and infection.

Shoulder

evaluation of the glenoid labrum
evaluation of the rotator cuff
detailed anatomy including the rotator interval
rotator cuff tears
labral injuries

degenerative processes

Knee

evaluation of the meniscus, with an emphasis on meniscal tears which can frequently be overlooked by the radiologist

the lateral anatomy and injuries to the lateral knee compartment

evaluation of the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments

evaluation of the postoperative knee (a favorite among the visiting fellows)

Other favorite lectures in this program include lectures on: the wrist, covering both traumatic and degenerative changes and the hip covering labral tears, femoral acetrabular impingement, and transient osteoporosis.
