MEETING DESCRIPTION:
Course Description

This CME program is designed to cover clinical aspects of breast imaging including conventional and digital mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and interventional procedures, as well as medicolegal and practice issues. The faculty consists of 5 nationally and internationally recognized experts. The program of lectures and panel discussions will be filled with “take home” information that should benefit every breast imaging practice.

Target Audience

This course is designed for radiologists who interpret breast imaging studies and perform breast interventional procedures. Physicians in other specialties involved with the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases, medical physicists, breast imaging technologists, breast center administrators, and other health care professionals will also benefit from this course.

Educational Objectives

At the completion of the course, the participant should be able to:

1. Discuss the mammographic, sonographic, and MRI features of benign and malignant breast lesions.

2. Describe appropriate uses of mammography, ultrasound, and MRI for diagnostic imaging.

3. Understand the current status of screening with digital mammography, ultrasound, and MRI.

4. Appreciate the past, present, and future practice issues in breast imaging.
