MEETING DESCRIPTION:
With the rapid advancement of multi-detector CT technology (MDCT) in recent years, information pertaining to patient doses (organ dose and effective dose) has become vital part of overall patient care today. Metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) detectors offer a near-real time CT dosimetry option. Application of this technology to CT dosimetry has been developed and implemented at Duke University Medecal Center druing the last six years.
This workshop is designed for medical physicists, radiologists and others wanting an opportunity for hands-on instruction and experience in the operation and testing of MOSFET CT Dosimetry. It will be assumed that attendees have previous knowledge of basic CT principles and applications.
Objectives:
MOSFET Physics for CT dosimetry
MOSFET calibration
Anthropomorphic phantoms for MOSFET dosimetry
Organ dose measurement and effective dose calculation
INSTRUCTORS:
Frush, Yashizumi, Hurwitz, Nelson, Hallil, Varchena, Huda, Toncheva, Anderson-Evans
