Mammography-Take This Job and Love It!...What a perfect name for such a rewarding yet challenging profession!. Providing excellent quality imaging and patient care with exceptional customer service is an integral part of the Mammography Department. Faced with challenges every day we must remain focused on imaging skills and patient safety. Communication affects every aspect of our job and our ability to gain patient compliance. High quality imaging is # 1 when it comes to detecting breast cancer and communication is an important part of obtaining optimal imaging and compression during the mammogram. Educating the mammography patient regarding the importance of compression and facts regarding radiation safety always come into play with our patients. The course will conclude with medical legal issues that affect the mammography department and imaging professional. This day of learning will be guided by faculty that understand the benefits of engaging the class participants in activities and scenarios that teach you how to apply quality management theory and process to real life work situations. This course will combine instructor presentations and interactive sessions with the opportunity to take a look your communication skills, medical legal issues and real case scenarios where you will be the judge. We all must know how to deal with the day to day problems which can be roadblocks to keeping us and our patients happy and be able to provide them with the “Warm Fuzzy” of mammographic imaging. Join AHEC for a day of education and interaction which will enhance your networking and professional development. You will love it!
