MEETING DESCRIPTION:
Mammography Registry Review Mammography was the first advanced registry offered by the ARRT and mammographic imaging has changed dramatically since that first exam! Big changes occurred in July 2006 resulting in at least five (5) different tests and again in 2007 to include digital mammogra-phy! It is hard to keep with on all the changes in technology and quality assurance required for digital mammography, film screen mam-mography, and how about those regulatory standards for MQSA? Let our experienced instructors cure your pre-registry jitters with a good dose of quality information. Come join us for an informative session that will leave you confident and ready to take the ARRT advanced registry in mammography. Course Topics • Patient Education and Assessment - Epidemiology of the breast - Diagnostic options - Early detection of breast cancer - Treatment options • Instrumentation and Quality Assurance - Design characteristics of mammography units - Imaging components – Analog and Digital - Quality Assurance • Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology - Localization terminology - External anatomy - Internal anatomy - Histology - Pathology • Mammographic Technique and Evaluation - Technical factors - Breast compression - Magnification techniques - Evaluation of image quality • Positioning and Interventional Procedures - Standard views - Additional views - Special circumstances - Special patient situations - Interventional procedures
