OB/GYN Course Objectives:
At the completion of the program the participant should be able to:
1. Explain the basic fundamentals of U/S physics/instrumentation.
2. Describe routine scan protocols, and measurements for performing transabdominal GYN, endovaginal scanning, and obstetric applications.
3. Identify normal/abnormal img. characteristics of ovarian & uterine pathology.
4. Identify normal fetal anatomy, apply appropriate measurement techniques and discuss commonly seen fetal abnormalities.
5. Perform a biophysical profile examination.
6. State the indications and applications for performing fetal echo.
7. Explain fetal cardiac anatomy and physiology.
8. Identify ultrasound anatomy of the fetal heart.
9. Demonstrate a routine protocol for a fetal echocardiogram.
10. Describe commonly seen fetal heart pathology.
11. Increase knowledge and confidence to perform and/or interpret obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound examinations.
12. Apply the information discussed in a clinical setting, under supervised conditions until an accepted level of proficiency has been attained.
