MEETING DESCRIPTION:
The technology of computed tomography has made significant strides in the past few years, first with the development of spiral/helical scanning and more recently with multi-slice CT scanning capability. Clinical medical physicists have an important role to play in supporting facilities acquiring this new technology. This workshop was developed in response to numerous requests for hands-on training on multi-slice CT. The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center has graciously allowed the use of five multi-slice CT units plus an independent workstation for this workshop. This workshop will emphasize the ACR CT facility accreditation process and the measurements required.
This activity is designed to provide continuing education in CT Imaging for the practicing clinical medical physicist. Approval has been received from CAMPEP for up to 15 hours of Medical Physics Continuing Education Credit (MPCEC) for qualified medical physicists.
