MEETING DESCRIPTION:
Diagnostic ultrasound is an easy and accurate imaging tool available for primary care physicians. A working knowledge of abdomen and OB/GYN ultrasound will enhance your ability to streamline your patients’ diagnoses and treatment. This intensive 3-day course will emphasize abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology to include endovaginal scanning, as well as theory and instrumentation. Hands-on scanning and models will reinforce the lecture

Objectives
At the completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
• Successfully complete selected abdominal, OB/GYN, and endovaginal ultrasound examinations following correct patient preparation and procedure protocols.
• Identify and display appropriate normal anatomy and orientation in the ultrasound field of view.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of the importance of quality assurance in ultrasound as described in the AIUM guidelines.
• Understand variations in scanning protocols for demonstration of pathologies in abdominal and ob-gyn examinations.
• Be able to develop mapping techniques to approach a variety of scanning situations.
• Be able to identify sources and research reference materials for additional information.

Physicians who will be performing ultrasound procedures in their practice.
