MEETING DESCRIPTION:
Echocardiography/Cardiac Doppler
You will learn basic echocardiography including investigation of the heart with 2-D, M-Mode, and Cardiac Doppler. This course is eight days and begins with the anatomy and physiology of the cardiac cycle. The physics and instrumentation of the exam including measurement techniques will form the basics for a quality study. You will learn the fundamental pathophysiology, the primary and secondary echocardiographic findings and the technical aspects of the procedure. It is an intensive study that will demand the maximum effort. Good hand-to-eye coordination is a plus factor. Half of the course is instructor directed hands-on scanning with models.
