Advanced Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

At the completion of this program, the participant should be able to:

1. Explain the use of MSK sonography for diagnosis and ultrasound-guided interventions for rheumatology, sports medicine, and physical medicine and rehabilitation applications.
2. Describe techniques and protocols for performing shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, knee, ankle and foot U/S exams and hernia evaluation.
3. Identify sonographic appearance of commonly seen pathology of the shoulder, knee, elbow, wrist, hand, ankle and foot.
4. Discuss the indications and findings for musculoskeletal hip and spine sonography.
5. Demonstrate injection & aspiration techniques using inanimate phantoms.
6. Identify specialty treatment options and discuss potential future applications.
7. Review musculoskeletal ultrasound case studies in interactive interpretation session format.
8. Increase the participant’s knowledge to better perform and/or interpret MSK ultrasound exams.
