This is negative scenario and all too common today and growing because common sense ways to eliminate these things from even coming up are not being implemented or confronted. You made the point wonderfully. I have yet to read in any department procedure manual,though, that a technologist can cancel a physician order under any circumstances. I have been a tech for 36 years and have 3 certifications. In a worst case scenario, the tech could be fired, sued by the patient, the hospital and lose their certification(s). The real problem is that Radiologist's time management issues make them ineffective captains of the ship. They simply have too many images to read to over see the management of their own departments. And most of the people that do that for them are ineffective today. These types of situations started to grow 15-20 years ago and they are increasing. Good job, young lady!
