  states with the documented training. This course will provide the tec
 hniques for administration, the pharmacology of dose units, the import
 ance of documentation and the response to allergic reactions. You will
  not want to miss this important opportunity to enhance your skills. C
 ourse includes both lecture and laboratory training with IV training a
 rms.\n\nCourse Topics\n\n• Safe and correct venipuncture techniques\
 n• Aseptic techniques and infection control\n• Patient safety, coo
 peration and education\n• Administration of prescribed medications a
 nd contrast media\n• Documentation, charting procedures and outcomes
 \n• Recognition and a response to allergic reactions to contrast med
 ia or medications\n\nTechnologists who wish to participate in the clas
 s for informational purposes will receive 8 Hours of CE Credit and wil
 l not advance to the clinical participation.\n\n*To meet California st
 ate requirements, you must have 10 hours of training and 10 venipunctu
 re sticks under the supervision of a qualified instructor. For our cou
 rse, a qualified instructor is a physician or registered nurse in your
  facility where you are employed. The venipunctures will be completed 
 in the facility where you are employed, after permission has been obta
 ined from the employer. Supervision should be by the radiologist from 
 whom you will be accepting orders to perform the venipuncture.\n\nIt i
 s required that you have current CPR training and that you receive in-
 service training in first aid, emergency response and the facility eme
 rgency response system. You will spend eight hours in the classroom in
  the theory and practice of venipuncture on IV training arms. The addi
 tional required two hours of training must be obtained in your facilit
 y and include crash cart procedures, emergency utilization of oxygen a
 nd the ambu or bag-valve mask. The clinical performance of the ten ven
 ipuncture sticks under supervision must be completed, documented, and 
 the clinical supervisor must attest by signature to the satisfactory c
 ompletion. After all required documentation is completed and returned 
 to Advanced Health, a certificate will be issued documenting complianc
 e to California state requirements. The required venipuncture sticks m
 ust be completed in a six-month period following the classroom portion
