 \nMEETING DESCRIPTION:\nVenipuncture is allowed in most states with th
 e documented training. This course will provide the techniques for adm
 inistration, the pharmacology of dose units, the importance of documen
 tation and the response to allergic reactions. You will not want to mi
 ss this important opportunity to enhance your skills. Course includes 
 both lecture and laboratory training with IV training arms.\n\nCourse 
 Topics\n\n• Safe and correct venipuncture techniques\n• Aseptic te
 chniques and infection control\n• Patient safety, cooperation and ed
 ucation\n• Administration of prescribed medications and contrast med
 ia\n• Documentation, charting procedures and outcomes\n• Recogniti
 on and a response to allergic reactions to contrast media or medicatio
 ns\n\nTechnologists who wish to participate in the class for informati
 onal purposes will receive 8 Hours of CE Credit and will not advance t
 o the clinical participation.\n\n*To meet California state requirement
 s, you must have 10 hours of training and 10 venipuncture sticks under
  the supervision of a qualified instructor. For our course, a qualifie
 d instructor is a physician or registered nurse in your facility where
  you are employed. The venipunctures will be completed in the facility
  where you are employed, after permission has been obtained from the e
 mployer. Supervision should be by the radiologist from whom you will b
 e accepting orders to perform the venipuncture.\n\nIt is required that
  you have current CPR training and that you receive in-service trainin
 g in first aid, emergency response and the facility emergency response
  system. You will spend eight hours in the classroom in the theory and
  practice of venipuncture on IV training arms. The additional required
  two hours of training must be obtained in your facility and include c
 rash cart procedures, emergency utilization of oxygen and the ambu or 
 bag-valve mask. The clinical performance of the ten venipuncture stick
 s under supervision must be completed, documented, and the clinical su
 pervisor must attest by signature to the satisfactory completion. Afte
 r all required documentation is completed and returned to Advanced Hea
 lth, a certificate will be issued documenting compliance to California
  state requirements. The required venipuncture sticks must be complete
 d in a six-month period following the classroom portion.\n\nINSTRUCTOR
