 \nVenipuncture is allowed in most states with the documented training.
  This course will provide the techniques for administration, the pharm
 acology of dose units, the importance of documentation and the respons
 e to allergic reactions. You will not want to miss this important oppo
 rtunity to enhance your skills. Course includes both lecture and labor
 atory training with IV training arms.\n\nCourse Topics\n\n• Safe and
  correct venipuncture techniques\n• Aseptic techniques and infection
  control\n• Patient safety, cooperation and education\n• Administr
 ation of prescribed medications and contrast media\n• Documentation,
  charting procedures and outcomes\n• Recognition and a response to a
 llergic reactions to contrast media or medications\n\nTechnologists wh
 o wish to participate in the class for informational purposes will rec
 eive 8 Hours of CE Credit and will not advance to the clinical partici
 pation.\n\n*To meet California state requirements, you must have 10 ho
 urs of training and 10 venipuncture sticks under the supervision of a 
 qualified instructor. For our course, a qualified instructor is a phys
 ician or registered nurse in your facility where you are employed. The
  venipunctures will be completed in the facility where you are employe
 d, after permission has been obtained from the employer. Supervision s
 hould be by the radiologist from whom you will be accepting orders to 
 perform the venipuncture.\n\nIt is required that you have current CPR 
 training and that you receive in-service training in first aid, emerge
 ncy response and the facility emergency response system. You will spen
 d eight hours in the classroom in the theory and practice of venipunct
 ure on IV training arms. The additional required two hours of training
  must be obtained in your facility and include crash cart procedures, 
 emergency utilization of oxygen and the ambu or bag-valve mask. The cl
 inical performance of the ten venipuncture sticks under supervision mu
 st be completed, documented, and the clinical supervisor must attest b
 y signature to the satisfactory completion. After all required documen
 tation is completed and returned to Advanced Health, a certificate wil
 l be issued documenting compliance to California state requirements. T
 he required venipuncture sticks must be completed in a six-month perio
