iew program has been designed with the interpreting physician in mind.
Its main focus is to expose participants to a wide variety of cases i
n order to gain certainty in diagnosis/interpretation of vascular path
ologies. Participants will also become intimately familiar on how to s
tructure/format the case reports. Our expert faculty will present the
cases in an interactive “double read” format.\n\nUsing the Audienc
e Response System (ARS), participants will answer questions pertaining
for each of the cases. The correct diagnosis for each case will be se
lected after stepping through the choices. The case load will help if
preparing to take RPVI exam. The “double read” sessions/exam log w
ill help with reading privileges for credentialing purposes and to mee
 t ICAVL lab accreditation requirements.\n\nCase Discussions / Reports\
n\nThere will be very limited didactic presentations, as this is prima
rily a case studies based program. Discussions will take place at the
end of the case presentation to review the final report and any correl
ative imaging procedures that were used for QA or to verify the findin
gs for that specific case.\n\nNumber of Cases / Exam Log Provided\n\nA
pproximately 40 cases will be reviewed. Participants will be given a l
og of exams read along with their corresponding reports.\n\nObjectives
. At the completion of the course, you should be able to:\n\n1. Explai
n routine scan protocols and analyze normal spectral waveform signatur
es, color characteristics, and Doppler measurements in a normal caroti
d and peripheral vascular examinations.\n2. Recognize abnormal spectra
l Doppler and Color Doppler findings seen with carotid and peripheral
arterial and venous disease.\n3. Apply diagnostic criteria for evaluat
ion of carotid, peripheral venous and arterial disease.\n4. Interpret
routine and complex carotid and peripheral vascular case studies in an
interactive “double-read” format.\n5. List the key elements to in
clude in a structured final report.\n6. Increase knowledge and confide
nce to interpret vascular ultrasound examinations.\n\nTopics\n\n* Over
