DESCRIPTION:\nOVERVIEW\nTargeted to all clinicians who are already acc
 omplished at surface obstetric scanning and is presented as the final 
 and optional day of our Hands-On OB/Pelvic Imaging course.  You'll le
 arn the process and protocol to master the  delicate critical hands-e
 ye skills to complete the transvaginal pelvic sonogram.  We'll focus 
 on systematic inspection of the entire uterus, adnexa, and accessory p
 elvic structures.  We'll show you hoe to optimize both standard and p
 ost-processing controls to completely evaluate soft tissue anatomy.  
 You'll also learn how to make fullest use of color, spectral, and powe
 r Doppler to completely evaluate tissue vascularity.  Hands-on practi
 ce with live subjects.\n\nTARGET AUDIENCE\n\n \n\n-SONOGRAPHERS who a
 re beginning or extending their career skills into this area who will 
 be working under the direct supervision of qualified and experienced s
 taff.\n\n\n \n\n-NURSE PRACTITIONERS, PA's, NURSES and MIDWIVES alrea
 dy working in OB/Gyn that are implementing ultrasound into their pract
 ice.\n\n\n \n\n-FAMILY PRACTICE AND OB/GYN RESIDENTS who will be star
 ting their women's care rotation.\n\n\n \n\n-ALL CANDIDATES preparing
  to take the OB/Gyn Certification Examination.\n\n\n\n\n\n OBJECTIVES
 \nThis course is conducted independent of any commercial or institutio
 nal grant, industry support or sponsorship.  No faculty members have 
 any commercial interests or participation that might influence its con
 tent.  Upon completion of this activity, you should be able to:\n\n 
 \n\n- Complete a systematic survey of the pelvis using TV technology, 
 identifying, measuring, and documenting  all reproductive structures 
 and relational structures.\n\n\n \n\n- Use Doppler ultrasound feature
 s to evaluate gross vascularity and microvascular physiology in the ev
 aluation of ovarian, uterine, and mass lesion histology.\n\n\n \n\n- 
 Identify and differentiate tubal pathology, including ectopic pregnanc
 y.\n\n\n \n\n- Cite the limits of spatial resolution and input dynam
 ic range accorded by the higher frequency transvaginal probe transduce
 r; compare it to surface pelvic imaging.\n\n\n \n\n- Apply proper sep
 tic technique and appropriate patient communication in all aspects of
