tice continues to evolve through technological improvements with rapid
MR and CT imaging. The radiologist must adapt to the impact of rapid
scanning and large data sets. Evolving technology improves radiologica
l practice not only through improved image quality for anatomical inte
rpretation but development of imaging biomarkers. The use of high reso
lution MRI and MDCT and fast multi-phase imaging sequences also necess
itates the ability to handle and review extremely large data sets. A f
urther consequence of the higher resolution, multi-phase CT and MRI te
chniques is the recognition of potential patient risks and focus on co
ntrast and radiation safety awareness. This course targets the communi
ty radiologist involved in body, cardiovascular and musculoskeletal im
aging with a focus on pearls and pitfalls in current imaging technique
 s. Substantial time will be allotted for discussion and questions rela
ted to these imaging issues.\n\nAt the completion of the course, the a
ttendee should have increased knowledge of current imaging technology
and procedure protocols applicable to body imaging including:\n\n1. Pe
arls & pitfalls in liver imaging\n2. MRI of the female pelvis\n3. Prac
tical imaging approach to the pancreas\n4. Appropriate use of cross-se
ctional imaging in the female pelvis\n5. Sonography of the abdomen and
pelvis\n6. Current concepts in thoracic imaging\n7. Basics and tips o
f cardiac imaging\n8. Current limita tions and opportunities for radio
logy information technology\n9. Approaches to dealing with large imagi
ng data sets\n10. Optimizing the yield from US and CT guided biopsy yi
eld\n11. Practical aspects of musculoskeletal MRI imaging of the major
joints\n\nINSTRUCTORS:\nQayyum, Avrin, Callen, Ordovas, Steinbach, Ye
