SUMMARY:The technology and uses of on-treatment imaging in radiotherap

DESCRIPTION:The clinical use of image guided radiotherapy has increase
 d rapidly in the last few years. Portal imaging is being superseded b
 y cone beam CT (CBCT) in a number of sites. However there are still o
 n-going debates around imaging frequency, dose measurement and margin 
 calculation.\nBy bringing together experts in the field, this one day 
 event will discuss these topical issues. It will describe how the imag
 ing modalities work, especially the newer CBCT systems, provide inform
 ation on the legislative framework governing imaging and justifying it
 s use, and show how the imaging data can be used to calculate the trea
 tment margins required for radiotherapy.\nOn leaving this event, parti
 cipants will be able to determine the imaging dose and know how to op
 timise it and will have learnt how to extract the relevant information
  from radiotherapy information systems for margin calculation.\n \n\
