 evolution.php\n\nMEETING DESCRIPTION:\nA quick perusal of the topics o
 ffered at the annual meetings of SIIM (formerly SCAR), AHRA, RSNA and 
 other professional organizations associated with Imaging and Informati
 on Technologies reflect the continuing emphasis on digital imaging as 
 the “Radiology Department of the future”. The future is now!\nComp
 uted Radiography (CR) and Digital Radiography (DR) are rapidly replaci
 ng traditional film-based systems. This seminar will introduce the iss
 ues involved in implementing and working with CR and DR. The impact on
  work process and the technologists who are involved in using these te
 chnologies will be presented. The discussions encountered in this semi
 nar will limit the “computer-speak” and will draw upon the traditi
 onal language of imaging technologists to describe the basic workings 
 of CR, DR and PACS.\nThe effects on radiography techniques, equipment,
  and the practice of medical imaging technology will be discussed. The
  question “How is the evolution of digital imaging and information s
 ystems affecting quality control, staffing, training of technologists,
  and support staff requirements?” will be answered. The requirement 
 for standardization of systems will be addressed.\nThis seminar provid
 es 8 hours of Category A continuing education credit for radiologic te
 chnologists recognized by the ARRT and various licensure states. A cer
 tificate of attendance will be provided for each individual upon compl
 etion of the course. All attendees must attend the entire course to re
