  vital radiation safety information to both the technologist and non-t
 echnologist performing examinations in healthcare facilities today. To
 pics covered will include basic radiation safety, the role of the radi
 ation safety program and the effects of ionizing radiation. Also cover
 ed will be radiation detection and personal protection methods related
  to ionizing radiation. This course is an excellent option for the reg
 istered technologist to refresh their knowledge of radiation safety in
  a minimal amount of time. This course can be used to provide required
  radiation safety training for the non-technologist performing bone de
 nsitometry measurements in the state of Texas. Also, the new Texas rul
 es require Non-Certified Technicians (NCTs) to complete 6-hours of con
 tinuing education every two years. This course will meet four of the s
 ix required hours of continuing education as required by the Texas Dep
