 adiation safety information to both the technologist and nontechnologi
 st performing examinations in healthcare facilities today. Topics cove
 red will include basic radiation safety, the role of the radiation saf
 ety program and the effects of ionizing radiation. Also covered will b
 e radiation detection and personal protection methods related to ioniz
 ing radiation. This course is an excellent option for the registered t
 echnologist to refresh their knowledge of radiation safety in a minima
 l amount of time. This course can be used to provide required radiatio
 n safety training for the nontechnologist performing Bone Densitometry
  measurements in the state of Texas. Also, the new Texas rules require
  Noncertified Technicians (NCTs) to complete 6-hours of continuing edu
 cation every two years. This course will meet four of the six required
  hours of continuing education as required by the Texas Department of
