SUMMARY:Quality Management Theory
DESCRIPTION:Quality management (QM) is of great importance for hospita
 l and clinic-based radiology departments accredited through the Joint 
 Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). It is
  also an important part of mammography and compliance with the Mammogr
 aphy Quality Standards Act (MQSA). QM requires a working knowledge of 
 the quality improvement (QI) process and tools, quality control (QC), 
 equipment testing and regulatory guidelines. You will learn the basics
  of the quality management process from the theoretical to practical a
 pplication. A combination of experts will introduce you to the fundame
 ntals of QM. You will learn from the pros how QM has evolved and how Q
 I has changed. You will receive “hands-on” application in designin
 g QI monitors for your facility. You will learn how a well-designed QM
  program will improve imaging quality and patient care.In addition to 
 the QC testing review, you will participate in a field trip to perform
  a portion of the QC tests listed in the ARRT QM clinical competencies
  required for the advanced level QM examination. All students will pro
 gress through the application phase of training at their own rate.\n\n
