SUMMARY:Quality Management Fellowship
DESCRIPTION:Quality management is of great importance for hospital and
  clinic-based radiology departments accredited through the Joint Commi
 ssion on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Quality ma
 nagement is also an important part of mammography and compliance with 
 the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). Quality management requi
 res a working knowledge of the quality improvement (QI) process and to
 ols, quality control (QC), equipment testing and regulatory guide-line
 s. You will learn the basics of the quality management process from th
 e theoretical to practical application. A combination of experts will 
 introduce you to the fundamentals of QM. You will learn from the pros 
 how QM has evolved and how QI has changed. You will receive “hands-o
 n” application in designing QI monitors for your facility. You will 
 learn how a well-designed QM program will improve imaging quality and 
 patient care. In addition to the QC testing review, you will participa
 te in a field trip to perform a portion of the QC tests listed in the 
 ARRT QM clinical competencies required for the advanced level QM exami
 nation. All students will progress through the application phase of tr
 aining at their own rate. Advanced Health can provide the opportunity 
 to meet some of the clinical competency requirements for the ARRT Adva
 nced Level Exam for Quality Management, but cannot guarantee the compe
 tency can be met. The performance of each competency is dependent upon
