 rtance for hospital and clinic-based radiology departments accredited 
 through the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizati
 ons (JCAHO). Quality management is also an important part of mam-mogra
 phy and compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). 
 Quality management requires a working knowledge of the quality improve
 ment (QI) process and tools, quality control (QC), equipment testing a
 nd regulatory guide-lines. You will learn the basics of the quality ma
 nagement process from the theoretical to practical application. A comb
 ination of experts will introduce you to the fundamentals of QM. You w
 ill learn from the pros how QM has evolved and how QI has changed. You
  will receive “hands-on” application in designing QI monitors for 
 your facility. You will learn how a well-designed QM program will impr
 ove imaging quality and patient care.\nIn addition to the QC testing r
 eview, you will participate in a field trip to perform a portion of th
 e QC tests listed in the ARRT QM clinical competencies required for th
 e advanced level QM examination. All students will progress through th
 e application phase of training at their own rate.\nAdvanced Health ca
 n provide the opportunity to meet some of the clinical competency requ
 irements for the ARRT Ad-vanced Level Exam for Quality Management, but
  cannot guarantee the competency can be met. The performance of each c
 ompetency is dependent upon the participant’s individual skill level
